This calls for high attention in safeguarding health information and system to enhance privacy not only to the data collected on patients but also to oneà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s life as it may create stress and depression to the patient. For instance, consider a case that happened at Naval Hospital few years ago, where their information system was hacked, and the patients information was leaked to the public. This was much of disappointment to the patients whom even lost credibility in this hospital. The patientsà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ data was also messed up leading to loss of medical records of some patients. This situation was due to the negligence of the institution to secure their information system to ensure the privacy of their clients. Victims of the scenario petitioned the court for misuse of their health information and the hospital was held liable for the damages caused to the victims. If I were to address the case of Naval Hospital, I would recommend a high physical and technical control of the information system to avoid unauthorized access. The system should make sure that patients can have access to their medical record whenever they request for it.
